Deception Revealed

 I'm still on my Blog Roll of Posts Pre-Scheduled galore!  If something happened to me you wouldn't even know for a Fortnite now.  *LOL*  I went to "Sprouts" to get Essentials and everything I needed was marked down at that new location, whoop whoop {Fist Bumps the Air}!!!  So, I came Home with Fresh Produce, Gourmet Cuts of Steak, 18-Pac of Happy Brand Pasture Raised Heirloom Eggs, Acai Sorbet, and what The Man considers an "Essential" from the Bakery *Eye Roll*, all for 50% Off regular prices!!!  Just, WOW, Color me Happy, as Grocery Prices have been increasing, so that was a pleasant Surprise to get deep discounts on everything Needed! 

The Man now has some Macadamia Nut White Chocolate Chip Cookies, so he'll be content while I'm at Work Tonight... and hopefully will moderate himself and not eat a whole Box of them in one go?  *Eye Roll*  For him to Behave for the Kiddos taking over his Caregiving while I'm at Work I have to set him up just right for the Night.  *LOL*  Princess T is still Recovering from the Flu, so mostly it will be on The Daughter to watch him and make sure he's Behaving.  She's cooking Dinner Tonight for them all so I made sure she had everything she needed for that Menu she'd planned.  She likes to use a lot of Fresh Foods in her Recipes, since, she cooked from scratch in Mexico and it's the only way she knows how to now.

  She's actually a good Cook and enjoys Cooking, but, she can wreck a Kitchen making a single Meal.  *Le Sigh*  The one thing that The Man will Voluntarily still take the initiative to do in the way of Housekeeping tho' is doing the Dishes, who knows Why, so, chances are, he'll be on Cleanup and Dish Duty after she prepares Dinner?   So, when I come Home from Work there MAY not be a Train Wreck of a Kitchen to come Home to, I dunno?  I have noticed since being on Ozempic that often I feel nauseous after eating very much of anything, even if I'm Hungry and thoroughly enjoying whatever it is.   It is a documented very common side effect with 20% of Users in Clinical Trials, so, I'm apparently one of the 20%.

They say to avoid large or fatty Meals to avoid that side effect, but I don't eat either large or fatty Meals, so even eating Healthy light fare, I still experience the Nausea just a few bites in.  That means, you just don't eat very much coz it's not pleasant to have that sensation associated with Eating, kind of a Pavlov Dog Response to it.  *LOL*  The Learned Association core of Classical Conditioning is thus happening with me.  Associating Food with the Feeling and actual Sensation of wanting to hurl, means, you aren't inclined to wanna eat very much then.  it's a Negative Association, and that works.  *Bwahahaha*  Appealing Stimuli would do the reverse.

How can you enjoy a Meal then?  Well, I guess you don't actually.  *Le Sigh*  But, then again, nothing Tastes as Good as being a Healthier Weight Looks and Feels.  And if it causes the Dreaded Diabetes and necessitating of the Meds and Injections Daily to go away, I won't be Sad that Meals are just less enjoyable for me.  Eat to Live, not Live to Eat, is my Goal anyway.  There's plenty of other enjoyable things in Life.  Plus, not having Cravings or curbing any Bad Habits I may have developed associated with Food is not such a Bad Thing either.  I'm tolerating the Ozempic Okay, have a few other common side effects, which are annoying to get used to accepting, but not serious or a Deal Breaker to discontinue with the Treatment.  

Hard to gauge whether my Fatigue is Med Related, Age Related, or Heat Related, mebbe a combo of all of the above?  And since it has been temperatures of 113-118 every Day all Week long with High Humidity too, and that's draining enuf without being Old and on Meds that could cause Fatigue as a Common Side Effect!  *Le Sigh*  I've been so Fatigued that I could Sleep and Nap the whole Afternoon away most Days lately, and sometimes even do.  When I came back from spending just about 40 Minutes at that Event, plus Commute time of mebbe 1.5 Hours, and a Meal, I took a 4 Hour Nap when I got back Home!!!  Absolutely Needed it and couldn't stay Awake.  Fell Asleep on the Sectional in the Livingroom while trying to watch a Show with The Man.  *LOL I'm such Good Company like that lately!*

Luckily he considers that Quality Time Together.  Hey, we were in the same Room, it counts, Right?  *Bwahahaha*   When I woke up he told me everything I'd missed, and he likes doing that, even if I'm watching something else or doing something else while he's watching a Show.  So, I never need to actually watch it.  *Eye Roll and LOL*   His running commentaries are just something he will do whether you want him to or not, so, now he's got the Dementia, it's no use telling him it's Okay, you don't need to hear how his whole Show went that he was watching and you were not... he's gonna tell you anyway, mebbe more than Once.  *Smiles*  As it turned out I think I had already seen what we were watching before anyway, it seemed familiar, so I didn't miss anything by Napping and then getting his commentary ta boot!  *LOL*

I was mad when I got to Work and realized, from a Co-Worker, that Richard has already been back to Work and they switched him from Friday Nights to Thursday Nights and didn't even bother to tell me!!!  They know I was only temporarily filling in for him and had told me they were holding Friday Nights open for him until he recovered from his major Surgeries.  If he was giving up Friday Nights they should have just given that permanent Shift to someone else and not shined me on, it was a shitty thing to do.  They knew I didn't want a Permanent Shift and that I'd been telling them I couldn't commit to a particular Night for a long period of time due to The Man's Health decline.  Had the Co-Worker not mentioned it to me I would have never known and thought Richard was still recovering!!!  She let it slip and so I told them I wasn't coming in anymore and they'd have to find someone else for Friday Nights.

I don't like being deceived like that.  Plus, once again someone didn't show up for their Shift and they had to scramble to get my Friend Gordon to fill in for her.  Then one of the Co-Workers who Works a Double Shift kept disappearing and going out into the Parking Lot to do personal things, which left us short-handed on the Sales Floor until she got back.  It wasn't busy until the last Hour, but, then we got slammed with late Shoppers.  I hadn't realized it was also Payday, so I picked up my Check, it was better than the last few Paydays, but not great.  A New Vendor was in a Locked Case and had some very large Hand Made Hunting Knives that were exceptional, with thick Custom Antler Handles, with Sterling Silver Concho ends, and Hand Made Sheaths with Rattlesnake Skin over Suede & Leather, and a Bear Claw Clasp... for a ridiculously low Price of $45 each.  So I got both for The Man as an early Christmas Gift.

He Collects Knives so he was Delighted with them, I knew they wouldn't last long at that low price point.  Often New Vendors either price their Merch too low or too high.  Anyway, at least now I don't have to Work on Friday Nights anymore and they'll have to figure out what to do.  I don't know if Richard requested a Shift Swap to a different Night or not, but, it wasn't Right not to tell me, since I was only covering his Friday Night Shift as a Favor to him since he's my Friend and had asked if I would.  I agreed and the Manager knew all of this and I'd been asking if they knew when he'd be coming back and nobody had told me he already had!!!  I'm glad a Co-Worker Friend let me know tho', I'd of been even more upset had they strung me along for longer and then I realized he'd been back for ages and nobody had told me!! 

 I was to the point anyway of telling them they'd have to find someone else to fill in for him, since, The Man's 2nd Surgery will require me to be Home Caring for him during his recovery period.  Now that the Deception was Revealed I had no qualms about telling them to find someone else now.  I know they're having trouble filling Shifts but that's not my Problem and I was doing everyone a Favor by Filling in when needed, but this had become too long a commitment to fill in.  I really didn't want it running thru the Holidays either coz I like to do things from October thru December without having to commit to covering a Shift.  Sales for the start of this Pay Period are dismal so far, so, it didn't start out Strong at all and Hope the 2nd Week of it picks up the pace.

Several of the Vendors have Halloween Merch Displayed, it's already Selling Out fast, as are what the GOODWILL's had put out early for Halloween!!!   I think there will be a shortage this Season due to Tariffs on Imported Goods, most Holiday Merch is made abroad, not here.  I was shocked how fast the GOODWILLs had Sold Out of the abundance of the Halloween Merch they'd only put out a couple Weeks ago.  It's been so popular they had to already replace it with their Christmas Merch!!!  Princess T said they're having the same Issue at SAVERS, they put it out early and doubt they'll even have any left by October... or mebbe even by September?!   I don't Need to Buy any Holiday Decor, so I've just enjoyed the Eye Candy of what's being offered this Season in the way of Seasonal Holiday Merch.

 

I don't really have an abundance of Vintage Holiday Decor left to Sell Off, I did already bring some Vintage Christmas in to put in the Locked Case.  It's really Older, from the 1950's Era, so shouldn't have any problem Selling it, that's quite desirable for the Vintage Holiday Decor Collectors that want the Real Deal and not Knock-Offs of Vintage Looking Repops for The Retro Holiday Look.  Reproductions are popular too, but a Real Collector wants the Real Deal for their Collection and to Decorate with.  I'm not Selling any of my Vintage or Antique Halloween Collection, took me too many Years to get what I have, it's much harder to find... and now the Price Points for Old Halloween is in the Stratosphere too.  I couldn't afford to replace it now. 

 Tho' Industry Friends have tried to Buy the whole Collection, I don't Need to give anyone a Discount even if they Bought it all.  Becoz I can easily Sell it for Full Value Price myself and get all the Profit from Letting Loose of it.  And, I don't even wanna Sell it, so doubt I'd even offer it to a Re-Sale Industry Person, they'd expect Margins so they could make their Money on it.  Not happening with those items.   I didn't spend a Lifetime Collecting them to let it go or to Discount it when I do decide to Release it.  Vintage Christmas I don't have the same attachments to becoz it's easier to Source, tho' not as often as you used to find it.  And, really, I can get full price for that too so don't Need to Sell it to another Vendor either who'd be Buying it to Re-Sell it themselves for a higher Price.   Vintage and Antique Holiday Merch is a Quick and Easy Turn still.

 Anyway, it was an Okay last Shift and I'm glad I don't have to Honor it anymore.  *Whew*  My Showroom was in decent enuf Shape, so didn't require much tidying before my Shift, and I did find Space for Merch I'd brought in.   Sales thus far this Pay Period have all been nitnoid Smalls Sales of low priced items and just One higher priced T-Shirt so far.  I actually had a Theft of a One Dollar Bagged Toy, if you can Believe someone would Steal something only Costing a Dollar, Jeeesus, some people!!!   A Thief is a Thief, whether they Steal a little or they Steal a lot, the only difference between someone who'd Steal something for a Dollar and someone who'd commit Grand Theft is really just Opportunity if you ask me, neither can be Trusted to be Honest or Obey the Law!!!  And what irks me is they slash the Bag and leave it behind so you KNOW you got ripped off... and I Believe that's intentional as a "Fuck You" to Retailers and Pride in being a Thief.  May their Karma catch up to them...
