One Chick Leads To A Chicken Empire... And Chicken Shaming

I am now FIVE Unpublished Posts ahead, I feel like such a Blog Writing Overachiever now!  I do get carried away with stuff... almost anything. *Bwahahahaha*  This HAS to be a Two Post kinda day as I do have too many Posts stacked up. And, there's lots to comment on that can't Wait.  *Winks*  The Summit was a Sham, just like I knew it would be.  The Purpose not being at all what they pretended it was for, and I'll just leave it at that.  Donnie Two Dolls Post Summit Countenance and Body Language spoke Volumes.  No Words necessary.  He was put in his Place by his Master.  Lots of Dark Money this Prez is into Bad Actors for exacts a Price, I'd say more than one person has the Goods on him too, that's all I have to say about it.  But, let's have some Humor, since the whole Political Scene is just a Real Life American Nightmare.  And, I just can't Today.  I just read an Amusing Post about Raising Chickens and how Chicken Math can equate to ending up with a Chicken Empire.  I think this is Why I should shy away from Raising Chickens.  One would be too Lonesome, Two would lead to more.  Until exponentially, every Cute Chick I noticed, and they're ALL differently Adorbs, would join the Flock, and a Chicken Empire would thus be Born at Forever Boheme'!  I'd have Eggs Production on Steroids and Chickens everywhere, a Chicken Hoard!  I don't Need any more Hoards of things I get carried away with and take on a Life of their own.  *Winks and Shudders*

Just the Imaginary Visual of too many Chickens running about the Pasture!  Roosting on stuff we have on the Back Porch!  Frenzied Chicken Wrangling each Evening to get them to Bed at the end of each Day!  How much more Bird Seed I'd Need beyond what I already go Hog Wild on feeding the Wild Birds!?  Guessing which Chicks are mebbe Pullets or would turn out to be too many Cockerels?!  Well, it already overwhelms me, just on the Canvas of my Imagination!  *Whew and LOL*  Tho' Chicks are Adorbs, the Mortality Rate, since there would be Casualties, I'm sure of it, would Wreck me Emotionally.  I think I'd have to Buy them as Adult Hens and forego Chicken Raising from scratch, IF I ever decided to go deep into those Weeds?!  And I'm sure I'd have Naughty Rogue Chickens I'd have to Chicken Shame on Social Media!  *LOL*

I think choosing a full grown Hen or Two, I could Dial myself back enuf not to get carried away, like I do with everything, but, who knows?   I once ended up with Six Working Cats and I didn't Choose any of them, they Chose us and just moved in at the Historic Property, they can spot a Human Sucker when they see one!!!   I'd like to say I tried to make it so they wouldn't wanna stay, but, that would be a Lie.  Once I gave them a Name, even a Nickname, it was all over but the Burying of my weak Resolve not to have a Cat Hoard, who Adopted us and became Squatters on our Property!   I managed to get all but One Spayed and Neutered, so we wouldn't have a Cat-astrophy!  *Smiles, wasn't that Clever?  Winks*  The One who kept his Balls was too elusive and Moved On so he wouldn't end up a Eunuch at Historic Bohemian Valhalla.  *LOL*

As you can see I went deep down a Rabbit Hole of humorous Chicken Shaming Online, becoz nothing Speaks to you about what mebbe ISN'T a Good Idea like folks who've already done it, and are Sharing their humorous lamentations.   I've come to the conclusion that my Heirloom Eggs aren't THAT expensive to just Buy.  *Bwahahahaha*  I just bought some and my Happy Egg Brand of Heirloom Eggs just is a Dollar more than they've ever been.  And another Heirloom Brand I Buy is even a Dollar Cheaper than that still.  They never went Crazy with Price Gouging like just your Garden Variety not-so-special Egg Companies did with their Pedestrian Generic looking White Eggs from Battery Hens they're not even Ethically treating. Most of those went from about $2 something a Dozen to over $10, just WTF?!

But, I'll usually pay more for my Heirloom Pasture Raised Ethically Sourced better Quality Eggs anyway, even before the Industry went Haywire like it has.  And to see that my Heirloom Eggs didn't increase their Pricing very much at all was actually a huge pleasant Surprise, they're Superior, so, they could have, but they didn't.  I Respect them all the more now becoz of that and will give them a Shout Out while putting the Battery Farmers on Blast, for yet another reason to not give them Business.   I have had Fun with the Chicken Shaming Shared Images, I think we all could use some levity, given... well... the whole Donnie Two Dolls Shitshow.  Some Days I just can't... and choose instead to just Ignore him.  So I don't end up in a Sour Mood over all the Fuckery rolling out almost Hourly now from the White House, which is being Molested with Gilding and vulgar Tacky Remodeling.

Some frivolous Fluff of Chicken Humor was a Welcome Respite to do a Blog Post about.   As I stack up the Unpublished Posts like Cordwood.  *Smiles*  The Below Chicken Shaming Humor really hit Home for me, wouldn't want that happening... and I'm sure it would.   Chicken Shit everywhere and on everything would send me over The Edge.  Sometimes what the Younger Generations of Kiddos do sends me over The Edge with what happens to my Stuff I Love... adding Chickens to the mix, probably would make me go absolutely Mental!  *LOL*  As it is the big Blue Recycle Bin got busted up last Week during it's Pickup, so I had to call the City about them busting off the whole Lid and asking for a replacement one.  We get Raccoons here and if there's no Lid, well, they get into the Trash.  And, tho' I told The Man several times they'd be Replacing it Today, after Pickup, so don't roll it back to the House, leave it Curbside to be swapped out, he keeps dragging it back.  *Le Sigh*

They won't swap it out if it's not Curbside, so I have to tell him again, put it back Honey, they're replacing it so it needs to stay Curbside 'til they do!   But, I have to watch becoz he'll Forget AGAIN, see it Curbside, and bring it back to the House, if I don't keep reminding him NOT to!  *Le Sigh*   I also have to tell Mando and The Daughter, don't drag it back, it's being Replaced sometime Today, I don't know when!?   I should hang a Sign on it, shouldn't I, like the Chickens?!  *LOL*  I've even had Omar, The Dear Young Neighbor, drag it back at times if he thinks I've forgotten to.  So, all day, until it's Replaced, I'll have to ensure nobody drags it back and miss the opportunity to get a new One with a Lid swapped out!!!  *Le Sigh*

I might have bought my Termite Treatment just in time, The Daughter thought she saw some.  I'll have to get their Guy out again to take a look, he'd done a thorough Inspection and cleared us not long ago when they installed the Protective measures.  But, with Termites, it can happen Boom... and that's why I wanted Treatments since they can move the length of a Football Field in no time and some of the Mini Farm Community had a problem with them already.   I wanted to be proactive and my RV Garage Mahal and She Shed are Stick Builds, the Main House is Adobe Burnt Brick with just Facia and Roof that's Wood.  Anyway, you can never be too careful really.  It's expensive to get Protection from everything that can go Wrong tho'.

You can end up Protection Poor and Insurance Poor as easily as going broke without having any and assuming the risks of having no Protection/Insurance coverage.   And not much is built to last anyway, which isn't Helpful either, it's intentional obsolescence that has Created a Disposable Society and Modern Folks don't seem to Mind that either.  I do, it bothers me that things aren't built to last and to not Fail within a few short Years.  Becoz everything is so expensive increasingly to replace, repair or partially rebuild/remodel.   Just having our 1980 Ductwork updated and redone cost us $35,000 for example!!!  I remember when a whole House didn't cost that much and you'd Finance for 30 Years!!!   Now something costs that much and is either on Revolving Credit or with a very Short Term to Pay Off, with big payments that are more than a Mortgage used to Cost.   But, back to Chickens... hey, do they Dine on Termites?  *LOL*

And I also know, if I had Chickens, I wouldn't have the Heart to cull any either, they'd be a Geriatric Flock just Freeloading for the rest of their Natural Lives producing nothing and costing more than Eggs would have for a Lifetime.  *LOL*  I know that I could never eat an Animal I've Raised and Named and Bonded with on an Emotional level that I always do.  The Man says even our Wild Birds, I get too Attached to them and if one does get Murdered on the Property by a Predatory Animal, I'm crestfallen about it.   We have woke up to Feathers all over the Yard, but whatever has Killed any of them, has eaten all of them, so... they weren't Sport Killed, they were some Animal's Meal at least.  And as well fed as they are by me, The Man said I've fattened them up nicely for whatever it was.

And the Blog Friends who've Raised Chickens and told their Chicken Stories make me very Aware that there's always gonna be a Chicken Tragedy Story inevitably.   And that if you do have a Rooster to Protect the Flock, they can be very mean towards the Hens and I know I'd be Advocating for my Hens even if that's normal Male Chicken Behavior, he'd be on my Dark Dawn Shit List for Hen Abuse.  *LOL*  The Crowing wouldn't bother me at all since many Neighbors own Roosters and they're not all that annoying really.  Hell, I grew up mostly around or on Military Bases and no Rooster Crows as loudly as Fighter Jets or B52 Bombers sound and vibrate the Hell out of everything in your House.  *Smiles*  But, it was the Sound of Freedom and you'll hear no Complaints from me about it, after a while you Tuned it Out.

Of coarse I have a Trio of Taxidermy Chickens, does that Count?  *Winks*  Each of them has a Name Tag, Yes, you could say they're able to be doubled as Vintage Liquor Tags.  I like to Repurpose shit, what can I say?  *Winks*   And as I'm here Blogging I've got early Episodes of "American Pickers" on, I've forgotten most of these earlier ones so I don't mind watching them again and like them better than some of the more current Episodes.  It was just better when Mike and Frank were together IMO.   I always thought the places they Picked being on National TV was risky for them being Robbed once Viewers could see the Value in what some of them had on their Properties.   It happens even if you're not having National Exposure.   My Vendor Friend Bryant owns an Acreage filled with his Hoard of Treasures and he says he's begun to have Trespassers who are trying to Steal his stuff out of his Barns and off his Outbuildings.  It took me 11 Years to get Bryant to Sell me his 1st Antique Persian Rug.

The Young Prince finally got his Birthday Pressy Package, he said the Mailman brought it in the Evening, which, was Weird.  I'm just glad it arrived better Late than Never.  I was worried it had gotten lost or stolen and it had Cost quite a bit to Mail, they include Insurance, but, I wanted him to have the Gifts and Money instead and not be filing Insurance Claims.   The Insurance was Basic and couldn't have actually replaced what it was since I'd Sourced the Shirts at a Deal and couldn't replace them for that again.   Above is a Pix of the Great-Grandpup, Tyson, we miss him being around, great Dog, and I'm not even a Dog Person.  He melted our Hearts just that much that even a Cat Person fell in Love with him.  *Winks*  Even our Neighbors fell in Love with him and spoiled him rotten.  Anna and TJ used to buy him STEAKS!!!  They didn't buy ME Steaks!  *Bwahahahaha*

Omar's Trees are Fruit Laden and Nut Laden again, so soon we'll have another bounty of Citrus and Pecans.   Lately I've felt like such a Homebody it's been hard to get me to even leave the House.  I don't even mind, and that's out of Character for me actually.  I can be that person whose never Home usually.   Now I can Nest here every day and never even wanna get out of my Jammies if I can help it.  *Smiles*  I got used to Locking Down during the Pandemic and after a while, didn't mind it, and I hear COVID is making a comeback in some areas.  So, if it gets bad again, I'm glad I'd be Fine with Locking Down again at Home to keep healthier.  The Man never got COVID, or, if he did, like The Son, he might have been Asymptomatic with absolutely no visible Symptoms even when Testing Positive.   The Man never Tested Positive, The Son did, but, had no reaction to having it.  I had it Twice and was deathly Sick both times.  I don't want a Three-Peat of it and Frustrate Grace.

  1. My favorite kind of day is staying home wearing nothing but a gigantic tie dyed shirt that reaches my knees. Heavenly.

One of my kids a few years ago had chickens. Three of them. When she came home from school, she would sit on the porch steps and the chickens would come and snuggle her. She loved her hens.

That dumb f*ck dumald... yeah. I agree.
