A Food Allergy Emergency

So, I'd started a frivolous fluff Post and then a Medical Emergency happened while I was Writing it, so, now I have a non-frivolous Post to Write and deleted the fluff one.  *Le Sigh*  I don't think you wanted another Post about my Vintage Marble Collection anyway, I'd fallen deeply down the Marble Obsessed Freak Rabbit Hole of Marble Nerdery.  And it was sounding like I might be losing my Marbles instead of just Collecting them.  *Smiles*  So, now, the Medical Emergency Topic.  It involved The Young Prince and Mushroom Soup.

He's eaten Mushrooms and tho' he has a myriad of Food Allergies, we haven't suspected Mushrooms was one of them then.  Of coarse, there's all kinds of Mushrooms and it only takes one of them to be Allergic to for you to have a violent Food Allergy reaction to it.  We'd gone to "Wildflower Bread Company" and I bought him a Soup there.  They had a really fabulous Selection this Day of Soups we like, I had the French Onion and he'd asked me, how's their Forest Mushroom Soup Gramma?  Well, it's fabulous, I've had it, best Mushroom Soup I've ever had, but clearly they use Gourmet Selection of Mushroom Varieties in it.  I have no idea which Varieties they use? 

He mostly took it Home coz he felt a little Sick after eating some at the Restaurant, but just thought his Stomach was upset, didn't correlate it with the Soup's ingredients yet.  So, BCG came over and The Grandson made them both something to eat and heated his Forest Mushroom Soup back up to finish.  After finishing it he got violently ill, so much so I realized, oh shit, he's having a serious allergic reaction to it!  BCG left coz The Grandson got so unwell he wasn't gonna be able to come out of the Guest Bathroom at all.  I Googled Mushroom allergies and it said to immediately call 911, so we did.  He gets this Sick when he eats Pork and both he and his Younger Sister have a lot of quite Serious Food Allergies.  Some Food Allergies can be Life threatening, so you have to err on the side of Caution.

The Fire Dept. responded and checked him out.  I'd given both Stomach settling Meds, Anti-Nausea and Anti-Diarrhea Meds to no avail.  He was sweating profusely yet feeling Ice Cold, losing consciousness, puking and having the Trots constantly, in serious excruciating Pain, I couldn't risk transporting him or assessing him myself.  They assessed he was Okay, non-life threatening allergic reaction.  He'd puked and shit most of it out of his System now and just needs to hydrate and stay away from the Forest Mushroom Soup, so no more Forest Mushroom Soup for him.  *Whew*  I was a bit panicked, when a Grandchild, no matter how Old, gets that Sick, you really get alarmed to a degree I cannot explain nor convey.  The Fire Dept. Team were great, they also were Wowed by our Decor and a few stayed to ask about some of it.  They'd never seen anything like it, we get that a lot.  *LOL*   Like, what is that?  You mean Goats get that Big in Africa?  Why Yes, they do... as they stand under his Mount in our Hallway. *Bwahahaha*

So, anyway, The Grandson feels like shit still, but will be Okay.  *Huge Sigh of Relief*  I have Electrolyte Waters for him to drink to re-hydrate.  I don't know what we'll be billed by the Fire Dept. or Ambulance Co. that showed up... but, whatever.  He has no ability to pay, but I'm the one that made the Call so if it takes Payments and I've got the Liability of the Cost by making the Call on his behalf, so be it.  I had to know he was going to be okay and not Die from a severe Food Allergic Reaction like that.  A Medical Emergency is what it just is and when you have Uninsured folks in the Household, it's hard, coz they can't pay, but they do need the same Standard of Medical Care that any Person ought to have a Right to have in this Country.  But, often won't receive due to Ability to Pay... or not be able to Pay.   And I'll send them $5 a Month for the rest of my Life if they Bill me, I don't give a Shit anymore, of if they ever get Paid... let them take it up with the President.  I hear he has a Decade's long "Concept of a Plan".  *Winks*  

  Our Medical System is structured to exclude low income and the Poor or Indigent, or Seriously Chronically Ill and Disabled receiving Affordable Healthcare or Qualifying for Help and State Provided Care.  I don't think this Administration is even trying to provide Affordable Healthcare.  They want the Poor, the Homeless, the Sick, the Disabled, the Old, and Minority Populations, to just Hurry Up and Die.  Even tho' they're trying to do away with the ACA coz Obama Created it, and they're so Racist that anything a Black Man did for the American People that is a Good Thing, they'll be vehemently Opposed to.  Even if they don't have anything but a Decade's long "Concept of a Plan" to replace it when they try to do away with it completely and dump Millions off receiving Healthcare at all.

Don't give me any Anti-Socialist Bullshit reasoning you fall back upon either as your excuse for Supporting this Cruel and Inhumane Regime.  Becoz we've had Socialism for the Elite and Obscenely Rich in America, and for Big Business, for as long as I've been Alive.  Handouts to the Richest far exceeds any fucking thing America has ever spent on the Poor and most Marginalized or Needy of Society, in our entire History.  Why some are more concerned about what someone with Nutritional Assistance is Buying in the way of Groceries, yet not at all concerned about what Rich Pedophiles are Buying in the way of our Children being Trafficked, is beyond comprehensible and disgusting to me!!!  I don't Care if a Food Assistance Recipient is buying a Birthday Cake, when Presidents are Buying 13 Year Old Girls to Rape, Okay.  My Priorities aren't that fucked up.

But, those who still Support and Adore him will no matter what he does to them, unto Death, they're just that devoted to the Cult they joined. He has become their chosen Messiah and whacky god replacement to Worship at the Feet of and Kiss the Ring of.  They'll drink his Kool-Aide. Even if Warned it will Harm or Kill them.   This Meme wasn't Wrong... and he's got way more Cult Followers than Jim Jones...

  Cultists be doing Cult shit like that and Cult Leaders care not about their Followers, just their own Twisted Egos and Power Trip over other folks they've duped and will manipulate and weaponize shamelessly.  Anyway, I'm relieved my Grandson is gonna be Okay, he was Scared, I was Scared, I'd not seen him have that kind of Reaction before to a Food.  He does get pretty Sick from Pork Products tho', this was just way worse than even that reaction.   Food Allergies can be The Devil.  And very Scary to Witness. 

 Anyway, that was more than enuf Excitement for a Monday Night.  Christ on a Bike!!!  The Son had JUST come Home from Working with Rob all day in Tonopah, so they both came rushing over when they saw the Fire Truck and Paramedics out front, thinking it was for The Man, I was standing Curbside to wave them to the right House.  When he checked out okay they decided not to transport him to Hospital.  We have one within sight of our Home tho', which is handy.  And the Fire Station is less than a Block away too, also handy.   My Checklist when choosing what I Hoped would be our Last Forever Property and Location was very specific about certain things being close by and what we really, really wanted here.  Trying to leave no margins for error, since I never wanna fucking have to Move again.  This Property checked off all the most Important Boxes.

I took those things into account when Buying a Forever Home due to The Man's Medical Needs and growing Older myself.  Your Checklist has certain Priorities that change over Time for Real Estate at various Seasons of your Life and various Personal Reasons specific to your Family and circumstances.  Okay, so, no Talk about Marbles this Post {Winks}, tho' I did Crib a variety of Online Unusual Marble Images from "The House Of Marbles" Website and it seemed like a good Blog Fodder fluff Topic 'til the Medical Emergency sidetracked me and went Off the Rails so quickly.  I'd of rather fixated on my Marbles, rather than Losing my Marbles Emotionally Tonight.  *LOL*  I will never look at that delicious Forest Mushroom Soup again the same, even tho' I Love it and my System can handle it.  *Le Sigh*

Well, fuck, now what to Talk about to Top all of that?  *Winks and LOL*  Never a dull Moment at Forever Boheme', that's for damned sure!  Before ours came tho' I did see Fire Trucks, Ambulances and Paramedic Vehicles racing down the Street in front of our Home heading towards the Hospital like Crazy tho', so it was a busy Monday Night for sure!  Being this close to a Main Road and a Hospital, means you see that all the time.  We're also very close to a Big Cemetery, so see the Funeral Processions pass by all of the time too.  During the Pandemic, there were as many as a Dozen a DAY of Funerals, it was Wild.  And the Hospitals were ALL on Crisis Standard Of Care and only taking Life Threatening ER Emergencies, and even then, couldn't handle them all, so had to Triage who was most viable and who was not!

That's why I still get upset with Covidiots who remain convinced it was a Worldwide Hoax, you just can't fix that level of Stupidity and Denial or Crazy Conspiracy Theory Beliefs.  Or those who get all their information from Unreliable Sources, like Faux News and this current White House.  *Eye Roll*  The State of the Union is just gonna be Lies, Propaganda, Outrageously Unhinged Ramblings, the Usual out of this seriously Mentally deranged and cognitively declined Moron who far too many Americans wanted Elected for a 2nd fucking Term, like the 1st Term was not bad enuf for the Country.  I just dumped a couple more Die Hard Cult Obsessed Donnie Two Dolls Worshipping folks off my FB Feed, they were getting beyond Crazy again on their Social Media.  They used to seem like Normal folks, now, clearly, they are so NOT!  Scary NOT Normal in fact.  *Cringe*  And trying to pass it off as Patriotism is just obscene and disrespecting Real Patriots and Heroes who Defended our Democracy.

One I dumped used to own a big Antique Mall in Downtown Glendale.  It Closed Down a few Years ago, and I think he's just become another one of those embittered Angry Old White Men whose Life unraveled and he desperately Needs someone to project all that Fear, Hatred and Anger upon, I dunno?  I just know I don't Need any of that around me, on my Feed, in my Life, absolutely no exceptions.  Take the Crazy Train off your Cliff, but don't expect me to try to Rescue you from yourselves when you've voluntarily Boarded it and have clearly gone Wheels Off the Rails now.  I won't go over that Cliff with any of them, tho' they clearly are trying to take all of us with them into the Abyss, which is troubling, I ain't gonna Lie, coz that's where it's going.  Like a Plane going Down due to an Engine failing or Pilot Error, it will take you all the way to the Scene of the Crash, that's exactly where it's going.  You don't have to Guess. Probably few, if any, Survivors.

Anyway, I drop folks like a Rock who get too Weirded Out, especially about their Politics or Religion, their Obsession is borderline Psychotic IMO.   And some tip over into truly being fucking Psychotic and completely out of Touch with Reality and untethered from it, they're never coming back from having gone over The Edge.  So, Bye-Bye-Bye. Total Lost Causes once they're that Far Gone IMO.  And since 2016 I've known more than a few, it's tragic really, and unsettling more than the tragedy that it is.  And how Far Gone America is gone Off the Rails now.  Is America able to Come Back?  I really don't know, but I'm not especially Optimistic since, it's infiltrated so high up and has that Following of those willing to Go Down for The Cause, with Eyes Wide Shut.  

And it's not like they're leaving the Country... even if they'd rather push the rest of us out.  However they can with their Project 2025 White Nationalist and Christian Nationalist Agenda and Big Ugly Bills and such. That whole Krew is as devoted as the Nazis were to Hitler and the Khmer Rouge were to Pol Pot.  And both of those Psycho Movements were responsible for War Crimes, Atrocities against Humanity, and the Deaths of Millions of Innocent People.   It can be a really slippery slope to give Evil and Dangerous deranged Men too much Power and unlimited Authority over any Nation, History bears that out numerous times, it's no closely guarded Secret how it begins or ends.   Protecting ourselves and our Loved Ones has to be each Family's Priority at this juncture.  Who he Targets next is anyone's Best Guess coz he's fucking dangerously Insane/Senile and quite desperate to hold onto Power and to Be the first American Dictator King for Life.

LATER:  Well, The Grandson was still not Okay and really needed IV Fluids coz I couldn't get enuf Water in him.  He kept throwing up regular Water and was Paranoid about the Electrolytes in my Sports Water "doing" something to him, so he refused to drink it.  *Le Sigh*   So, by Midnight he finally agreed to be taken to the closest ER, which ended up being a Mistake and huge waste of Time.  It had Standing Room only and after almost 3 Hours there they still hadn't fully even checked him in!!!  Worse Emergencies kept streaming in, we probably wouldn't have been seen if we stayed there 24 Hours looking like Death Warmed over, I swear!  Plus, Security was Kind, but feeling nervous about The Young Prince's Mental Status.  He wouldn't put a Shirt or Shoes on to go to the ER, just a Pair of ill fitting PJ Shorts, so he did appear quite Mental.  They gave him a Purple Hospital Jumpsuit to put on, Security went with him to dress him in it.  

When someone is very Physically AND Mentally Unwell, it's a delicate situation and he was getting more Paranoid about all the People and what Diseases they all might have.  I didn't feel too comfortable myself sitting around so many that looked to be potentially Contagious with something, I ain't gonna Lie, and I'm got even a Paranoid Schizophrenic!  People were puking, moaning, screaming even, it was pretty stressful to even BE there, so I just took him back Home when it was clear we weren't getting seen and most people weren't who'd been there way longer than us.  They were only calling in about One Person per Hour, so, no telling how many folks they had already stacked up in the back and finally past Triage and no more Room for more?  I suspected they should have been Routing folks to other ER's, they seemed overwhelmed and understaffed... it's a good Hospital, but a notoriously Bad ER.  It's where they kept me Waiting with no Care during a fucking Stroke for Three Hours before I went somewhere else to Save my Life and Brain!!!  

It reminded me of during the Pandemic actually and I wondered, just how many of these Folks are Unvaxxed and may have COVID?  I'm Vaxxed but don't wanna get it again, Twice and almost Dying from it, even fully Vaxxed, each time, was enuf.  When I got back Home I settled him in on the Livingroom Sectional coz his Living Space is 'Crazy', I hadn't realized how dysfunctional he'd already made it 'til Princess T and I went in to try to assist him to go to the ER.  Holy Hell, when he's really unraveled it shows in his surroundings really bad.  It's not Okay and we'll have to run a lot of damage control behind him to keep things sanitary and safe.  This may be part of why Allen cracked under the Pressure and Stress actually?   If he came Home from a demanding Job each day to the Crazy and Chaos, I'm sure it led to meltdowns of his own?

All The Young Prince said when he saw my Face upon entering the Art Studio Space, since he'd kept the Doors Locked, for good reason, before that, was, "I Need Help Gramma, but I don't want to end up in an Institution again..."   He's not taking Care of himself and it's difficult to Care for him since some things you can't do FOR them, like Eat, Drink, ease the Psychosis that his Meds don't Manage... and he's on a slew of Meds for the Paranoia, the Anxiety, the Hallucinations, his Seizures which he has all the time now off and on... along with also having Narcolepsy.  There is no way he's gainfully Employable with all that's Wrong with him.  Yet he's very Paranoid about this Government coz they have already said they'd like to Euthanize the Homeless!!!  Yeah, very Naziesque.  

 And, Donnie Two Dolls has a Developmentally Disabled Nephew's Son that he told his own Nephew he should just let the Child Die!!!  So we already know his Sentiments about Disabled Family Members, or those not "Pretty" enuf like the One Daughter he won't be Seen with... and didn't say he'd have Sex with if she weren't his Daughter, like he did about the Pretty One!!!   So, The Grandson isn't Wrong about some of his Concerns, it's not just his Illness giving him the Paranoia, this Regime has given us all sufficient reason to feel more than a bit Paranoid ourselves even if we're not Mentally impaired!!!  While at the ER he was fading in and out, then looking around Wild Eyed and saying he thought they might be trying to Kill all of us.  It made more than one Person get up from being by us and move to another part of the Waiting Room.  Which, was kinda funny, if you have a Dark Sense of Humor... coz... it WAS Looking like that.

The Man had begun to Act the Fool when I finally got back from the pointless ER Visit... for the Attention.   And by then it was past 3:00 in the Morning and I'd have to be up again by 5:30 to take Princess T to Work.  So, I told him, Knock It Off, be Still and be Quiet, coz I'm too fucking Tired right now to Cope with anyone's nonsense.   He complied, otherwise he'd of been up rustling around, bumping into things, risking another Fall, turning the TV on and shit, and not going to Sleep like a Normal Person whose internal Clock isn't out of whack from Dementia.  I'm Bipolar and ADHD as Fuck, but I do still Need some Sleep sometime or I don't Cope very well with NO fucking Sleep.  I don't require a Straight Eight like you Non-Bipolar Non-ADHD folks do, but, I was running on Sleep Deprivation Fumes with everything going on.

Princess T had told me as I drove her to Work that when she'd seen the Fire Truck Lights earlier thru her Bedroom Window, coz it faces the Street, she thought it was for her Grandpa so it Freaked her Out!!!   And she then said she didn't wanna Throw Shade or seem Mean or like she doesn't Care, but, if it's not for Grandpa or I, she felt like she could just go back to Sleep.  Coz just another Day of Crazy around here, with a Brother, Mom and Uncle who don't take good enuf Care of themselves even on a Good Day to stay "Well", and who Lives like this?  I know what she means.   She knows I have enuf to handle with Grandpa's obstinacy about taking good enuf Care of himself and doing what we try to get him to do every single Day that his Doctor's say he should.  But, like I said, some things you can't do FOR them.

She was convinced that tho' her Brother having the allergic reaction to the Forest Mushroom Soup was legit, he's Physically and Mentally such a Wreck by now with deferred Care and this Nation's Medical Neglect of folks like him, that there's a whole LOT going on.  I am in Agreement.  He's thin as a Rail, thinks most of his Food is Alive and Moving, has a slew of Food Allergies, so barely Eats enuf to even stay Alive.  He's on Strong Medications prescribed and most of those you should take with Meals, plus they all have Serious Side Effects, which is why he had to discontinue most Psychotropics when he was 15.  It's Ten Years later, but, his Vital Organs couldn't handle all the Psyche Meds a Decade before anymore, so perhaps it's happening yet again, I just don't know?  He has no Health Insurance so we don't even know if we can renew the Prescriptions once New Mexico's Social Services provisions run out and he has to be picked up by Arizona???  And mebbe they deny him Services and Coverage?  And we end up on Endless Appeals again?

For some Not-PC Gallow's Humor and some Levity during Dire Times, Above is a Vintage Valentine like what my Classmates would choose to give me in Grade School back when Political Correctness wasn't a Thing... LOL.  It still makes me Smile rather than choose to take any Offense.  It's the Spirit in which Who gave the Card, that always matters.   Anywhoo... Arizona has some of the most abysmal Ratings of all 50 States, only Southern Red States have worse Ratings for Medical, Education, Aide for the most Vulnerable and Disabled, Mental Health Services, and Nutritional Assistance Needs.   Arizona went Purple when Uncle Joe got Elected, but swung back to Red and was in part responsible for this 2nd Term of Crazy.  So the vast Majority of the most Needy Americans did Vote for this Fuckery and ongoing Shitshow, or failed to cast a Vote at all, so, I don't even know what to say... I have no Words for them.   

 Even if I had, it would have fallen on Deaf Ears in Deep Denial about their 'Boy' they are so enamored with and Voted in Twice.  The rest of us grew weary of trying to talk some Sense and someone out of something that took no Sense to get into.  They sure don't want his Concentration Camps in their Villages and Towns tho'!   Even the little podunk Deep Red Voting Towns are Protesting like a Motherfucker about NOT IN OUR COMMUNITY and trying to Block ICE-Capades Buying up huge Warehouses to dump Detainees in their midst and overwhelming their Services and capacity!!!  The MAGA are now up in Arms about when it comes to their Community, what they Voted In and Supported so wholeheartedly.  So, it's only when it Touches THEM that they are against any of it.  And it will Touch them, they were just too smug and naive that it wouldn't.   

These are the Big Lot of Marbles I didn't Buy from my Friend Big Kenny coz he still wasn't giving me the best 1st Cousin Deal on them and I wouldn't pull the Trigger for that much.  Someone did, so... they must have been more Obsessed with Marbles... there just was way less than half of these that I had any Interest in, so I didn't wanna Buy them all.  A Mixed Lot of Desirable ones and those I won't even Keep has to be real Cheap for me to Buy what I'll only have no Need to Keep and Need to get rid of.   I can Buy almost any of the more Desirable ones I saw in this Lot, for $1.49 a Bag at a Craft Store, that look like these and not have any I wanna dispose of.   Too many Cat's Eyes and Clearies, which are Junk to me and a Hard Pass.  I want only what I want, and what I don't want I'm not willing to Buy.

 

I'm re-hashing my Fav Pix of myself coz I Feel like this right about now again.  *LOL and Winks*  "The Scream", it's my Version of the Iconic Image Painting of 1893 by Edvard Munch we all know so well, epitomizes and defines the Symbol of Existential Dread and Modern Anxiety!   It should be hanging in the White House right behind the Resolute Desk IMO.   The Sun has come up now and Blogging has helped when Sleep was impossible.  By the time I got The Grandson AND The Man settled down, and The Granddaughter to Work too, I couldn't even manage to fall Asleep, too Keyed the fuck up!   If The Man can't watch NCIS Reruns the moment he's Awake, he'll usually just give up and go back to Bed and Asleep.  It keeps him engaged all Day like an Adult Babysitter tho', so Thank Gawwwwwd for the NCIS Team led by Leroy Jethro Gibbs {Mark Harmon}.  *Whew and LOL*

He does watch the other Spin Off Versions of it in New Orleans... and where ever LL Cool J has a Part, which is NCIS L.A..  *LOL*  But, his Favorite is definitely the D.C. Original Version of the Show and he'll watch the NCIS Marathon Channel.  Of coarse I did spend most of my Sleepless Nights watching Vintage TV Marathons of the Original "Roseanne", I Loved that Show, it still makes me Laugh coz I've forgotten most of the Clever Comedic Lines in the Episodes.  I watched one this Night of the earliest of Episodes where she wants to go to Vegas and Dan is balking going and saying, you wanna go to Vegas and leave the Kids here?  And she goes, "That's all I've ever wanted, Dan!"  Truer Words have never been Spoken by a Mother if most would be Real about Fantasizing their Escape and not pretend to be faked and Sanitized Super Mom.  Those Social Media Fakers are a fucking Riot tho', I ain't gonna Lie... pleeeease Debra/Karissa/Karen, few are Buying into the Stepford Wife schtick, but it is Amusing, like all schtick is.  *Bwahahaha*
