Well, it's winding down now since Halloween is a mere 48 Hours away in Real Time. I thought about hitting some of the Stores to see what Discounts or Mark Downs they have on any Halloween Merch they have left, but, after I got comfortable at Home, I thought, well, not Today. *LOL* Sometimes you just change into something comfortable, start Relaxing, and don't wanna now leave Home. You're completely done Todaying for Today and that's how it goes sometimes. *Smiles* Plus, I don't actually NEED anything and so am resisting any urges to Buy anything not Needed. Most of the time just Photographing any of it is more than Enough for me now, to have the visual on a Camera and Shared here and kept in a Photo Archives preserved for the Memory of it.
Princess T had to be picked up from Work early coz she wasn't feeling good, so we had to go get her by 11:30 a.m.. We'd been doing some Environmental Cleanup when she called me, so aborted that activity, dropped her off at Home and I took The Man to a new Mediterranean Kitchen Restaurant called "Luna Grill" which has opened recently right near our House. Yay!!! Sometimes I crave Mediterranean Foods and most of the Genre is in the East Valley rather than the West Valley. The reason of coarse is demographics. The East Valley has more people with a Mediterranean Heritage on their side of the City. Anyway, it was good and we liked everything, so it'll be a Go To place now that's conveniently nearby.
Their Citrus Herb Pita Chips are to Die For! They were out of the Stuffed Grape Leaves Dolma, so substituted with a Koobideh Kabob for my Order of the Lunatic Sampler. Which also had the Couscous Medley {delicious and some of the best I've had, which was quite a nice Surprise}, Falafel, Tzatziki Dip, Spicy Harissa Hummus & Original Hummus, plus Pita Bread Triangles. The Man wanted something Basic, he's not very Extra when it comes to Mediterranean Foods, so he wanted just Gyro Meat & French Fries with Rice, it comes with Pita Triangles and Tzatziki Dip too. He didn't eat much so most of his just came Home with us and everyone else will probably finish it off, he probably won't. I brought some of mine Home too coz it was a lot of Food, good for 2 or more Meals for me.
He was just Happy to be out and about and was in a very good Mood. So I got him back Home well before Sundowners would set in for him and he might have Mood tanking. Princess T had worn her Cute Tigger Onesie as her Halloween Costume to Work Today. She has a bunch of those Character Onesie's to default to wearing as Halloween Costume or Pajamas, so she's had them all for Years now and picks up any she sees at her Chazza that will add to her Collection of them. She's only 90 lbs. so gets Cold at Night and the Onesies are most comfortable for her to Sleep in and double as Halloween Costumes. Since her Employer wants Staff to wear Costumes during Halloween Season, she wears a different Costume every day and enjoys that her Store gets into the Holidays like that, even Top Management wears Costumes, it's Fun.
However, inclement Weather is expected during Dia de los Muertos Celebrations, which is a Bummer, coz I intend to go back to The Desert Botanical Gardens for their Dia de los Muertos Celebrations and Procession. A lot of Hispanics are doing it early at the Grave Sites Today due to Weather coming in. We live by a huge Catholic Cemetery that is just across the Street and walking distance from our Home. So we saw a lot of Family paying Homage to their Dearly Departed all day and Decorating the Graves elaborately and making Altars. They will be doing the same in my Mom's Country, as they Host a very similar Celebration for the Dead on the same Dates. My Cousin always makes the Altars for our Grandparents and his Parents. He often sends me Pixs.
I was disappointed that a recent E-Bay Purchase from a Bookseller was Cancelled after I'd Paid and have been waiting for the Order. They claimed I Cancelled the Transaction, which, I did not, so I don't know why they Cancelled, but they claim they are issuing a Refund. I'd rather have the item since I Won the Bid for it, I was the only Bidder, so perhaps they're one of those shady Sellers who will List it again hoping for a higher Bid to Win it? That's happened before, not often, and I leave Neutral to Negative Feedback whenever any Seller Cancels my Order for bogus reasons and then I have to wait to get my Money back after they've had the Money a while, but had no intention of sending you the Product listed. Overall most Sellers are good and not Shady, but you're always gonna get some that you have to alert E-Bay to the tactics of being questionable or even fraudulent. I'm still waiting on an Order of Address Labels I had made for Christmas Card Mailings, coming by Media Mail, so will be Snail Mail. I liked the Font they used too. We used to get Labels Free from various Companies trying to get you to send in Donations to their Charities or to sign up for or renew their Memberships. But now we haven't had any sent coz we never Renew, become New Subscribers or Donate to their particular Causes or Members Only Businesses anymore. And I'm sure like Check Orders from Banks, it's a Dying Business hawking Address Labels and Checks except to us Dinosaurs that still utilize such things. *Le Sigh* I still send out Christmas Cards tho' my List has gotten shorter every Year for Years now. A lot of folks we exchanged Annual Cards with either Died or no longer exchange Cards. So, only those who reciprocate and are still Alive, we keep on the List. *Smiles* Often how I know someone Died was becoz their Cards stopped coming... and then I realized Why. Dead.
Anyway, I have some Cute Christmas Cards for this Year that are the kind of 3-D Cards with moving parts and cut-outs. And bought my Stamps early from the Post Office in case it gets too busy during the Holidays. The Ornaments on the Christmas Tree Card below move and it stands up like a Table Centerpiece. I agonize about choosing and am Anal about my Cards. I'll spend a long time going thru choices to get just the Right Cards to buy for the Holidays. *LOL* And I don't know about you, but whenever I receive an Ugly Christmas Card I have to Wonder, out of all the Cards available to choose from on the Market, they chose this Ugly one? *LMAO* I guess it's all subjective, Card Art or the Visuals on them, or mebbe like Ugly Christmas Sweaters, where some folks just dig how Bad, Cheap and Tacky they look? *Smiles* And if the Cards look really Ugly or Cheap, then I think, I sure Hope you got these for Free {like those Freebie Labels some Companies send, some Companies do send Free Cards or Calendars}, coz, I sure wouldn't Pay for something like this!!! *Bwahahahha*
My Sister-In-Law, whose Married to The Man's Younger Brother, hand makes all of her Christmas Cards and they're so Beautiful I almost never throw them away, they're Keepers, little Works of Art. And I've had some Crafty and Creative Friends send me Hand Made Cards that are Mini Works of Art too and I've kept them becoz they're so Special it seems criminal to consider them trash. Funny Story, I once had a Blog Friend who was Madly Creative and sent me a Blog Friendship Gift. Well, when it arrived, the Packaging the Gift was in was so Fantastic I thought THAT was the Gift and was over the Moon about it. I told her how thrilled I was with her Gift and sometime later, Months later, she asked me if I'd worn the Earrings yet? What Earrings? You see, I never opened the Packaging to know there were Earrings inside!!! *LOL* And then, I told her I was nervous about opening it and ruining the Packaging in case I couldn't put it back like she'd had it... coz I Loved it so much! She thought it was hilarious... and... The Earrings were very Nice, but like a Child, I was digging the Packaging more. She could have just given me the Packaging. *Bwahahaha*
This Pyramid of Pumpkin and Harvest Plants made into a Tree that The Desert Botanical Gardens had made for their "Strange Gardens" Event was fantastic. I Photographed the Hell out of it from every angle, so much to take in and behold that it was Created out of. I'm always amazed at people who walk past such an Artistic installation and barely give it a glance, or appreciate it, as if it isn't even there!!! I guess they're just Culturally Deprived, I dunno? Or mebbe I'm just intensely Artsy and Into such things in a big way? *Ha ha ha* I do know I'm very Visual and Tactile, every Sensory Pleasure I notice and take in. It's important to me that things around my Home are Visually interesting, and that our Home has Sensory Pleasures like Smelling Nice, Sounding nice, being super Comfortable, Inviting and Relaxing, and is a Sanctuary to retreat to and want to be in. When I enter any Space, be it Personal or Public, and it doesn't have any of those things, I don't want to be there any longer than I have to be.
The biggest compliments I have received are from Caseworkers or Hired Help who've come into our Home and say it's always their favorite Stop of any Client becoz they just don't want to leave and like being here. Nurse Remi always tells us, I just always want to stay longer, you don't understand, most of the Homes I go to, I can't wait to leave becoz the Energy in them is not Good! I know what she means tho', I've gone into Low Energy and Bad Energy Homes and Businesses before, it Negatively impacts me, so I can't and won't stay long unless forced to. And often it's not just how a place is Styled or what it has or doesn't have in it, it's the Energy of the People who Occupy that Space mostly or the Vibe it imparts, for whatever reasons that Energy is present that I do not Like. I Feel it.
The Man and I went to Bed at a ridiculous hour, like Toddlers, it was still light Outside when I retired for the Night and him shortly thereafter. I don't know why we were so exhausted either? But it meant I got a lot of Sleep and feel more rested, so, it's all good. Today is Payday at the Antique Mall and I honestly don't know if I did well or not coz I never checked in to find out. All Body Parts crossed I did and have a Check? Sales got stagnant again the closer to the Elections. We had Two good Paydays in September, then it's flatlined again. The Holidays usually we do well, but this Year we haven't, and becoz essentials are so expensive and costs rising exponentially on everything people need, then they just aren't buying what they don't need. Well, except for people buying Pokemon Merch, I guess they'd go without eating to ensure they can afford that Collectible? *LOL* The average Pokemon Fanatic now is not a Child, it's Young Adults Aged 20's up into their 40's!
When I went to The Desert Botanical Gardens Event "Strange Gardens" I enjoyed it. The Pumpkin and Fall Harvest Foods Pyramid was spectacular. Yet, people were walking by it with nary a glance, the Culturally Deprived just don't seem to be interested in anything Artistic or Stylishly Beautiful. Or be appreciative of anything Artsy, I was Photographing it from every angle, I think more people stopped to look at ME doing that than to look at the Object's Artistic Value and Beauty!!! *LOL* Oh, Look, it's an Old Lady with Dreadlocks Photographing something... {them acting oblivious of the gigantic Pyramid of Autumnal Vegetables as if it's invisible tho'... bwahahahahahaha!!!} To think I was more of a spectacle of Interest than that was Amusing to me tho'! *LOL* It does make me Wonder what percentage of Visitors aren't the least bit Interested in any Installations the Gardens puts so much effort, work, Culture, and investment into tho'? Unofficial Survey Observation, the vast majority seem not to unfortunately.
The whole time I spent admiring and Photographing it, which was considerable, only ONE Young Couple stopped to take their Pix in front of it on the Bench Seat. A single quick Photo, and then moved on and didn't stop at the other smaller Installments to even give them a glance. Anyway, it did mean I had unobstructed views and could take my time Photographing everything, since nobody else seemed to be, so they weren't in my way. And that was fine with me. Plus, it was a Weekday and perhaps the Artsier Crowds come on the Weekends, who knows? Plus, another Observation is... people spend more time at an Event on their Phones distracted, than actually enjoying whatever the Event is. They are so addicted to their Devices that it's at the exclusion of everything and everyone else around them it seems. Even at Work, they just can't put it down.
I prefer to be present in my Moments and only pick up my Phone to look at something when I'm bored, standing in Line with nothing to do or nobody to interact with, or waiting for The Man to finish his Food if we're eating out, coz I eat notoriously fast. *LOL* I don't even know why I eat fast, I just always have. The Man said I eat faster than they made them eat in Boot Camp. *Ha ha ha* I can drink copious amounts too so I'm never dehydrated, I drink like a Camel, or so I'm told. *Smiles* Anyway, that's why I prefer to go to Events by myself and just meet people there to interact with rather than having an entourage. I like to spend lingering time looking at things in great detail and when you've got people in tow with you, they always seem in such a hurry or distracted. My pace to enjoy things is slower and Zen, I don't wanna be or even Feel rushed or distracted. I am truly a Harvest Moon Child this time of the Year. *Smiles*
I'm contemplating what I wanna do Today and I know I want to get some more Inventory into the Antique Mall Showroom. Pricing is time consuming and labor intensive tho', so, I just wanna mebbe price a few larger pieces that have higher prices rather than pricing Smalls. Yes, Smalls are the Bread & Butter, but there's other things I wanna do Today rather than Work. *LOL* So, tick-tock, I don't wanna spend an inordinate amount of time Pricing shit to take in and waste the whole of the best part of the day doing all that. Don't mind doing it later at Night when I wouldn't have a glorious day out there to be out in instead. The weather seems like it might hold until Evening when Storms are expected. And I really do wanna hit a few Stores that might be Clearance pricing Halloween Merch. Some of our Pension Checks did hit early already, probably becoz the EOM is on a Weekend and the 1st also falls on Sunday. So, I'm not a totally Broke Bitch right now and have a little wiggle room Economically at the moment. Rare at EOM. *LOL*
The Niece did get Hired at that Remote Job that pays way more, she'll have to go back to Texas for Training and stay with her Dad while she's doing that. Mebbe he'll appreciate her being there more now she's been gone a while? Perhaps her Sisters will too, and not presume to be Armchair Caregivers from a Distance this time? Easy to critique how other people in the Trenches are doing it when you have the Luxury of being conspicious by your fucking Absence and NOT doing it. You see, I'd be that Sibling that cuts a Bitch, The Niece is so much Kinder than I would have been to the meddling Sisters and Aunties who've never stepped up or stepped in to Help her Dad but are the harshest Critics when she did and ran interference making it then impossible for her. They should have been making $120,000-$200,000 developing Progams and AI for these Mega Companies that are Billionaire Corporations, not $69,000-$80,000. Which is chump change to these Billionaires they're making Richer, while also displacing themselves in the process and becoming Unemployed for 6-9 Months when they're tossed to the Curb and served their Usefulness to those Greed Driven Bastards. The fact America even swung towards Evil is what really pains and deeply disturbs me, I did think we were better than that as a Nation and Population, I was Wrong, we collectively were apparently not. Individually there is still Good among us, but the Voting and Behavior of those who Support this Regime showed me Evil and the propensity for violent extremism and Cruelty towards other Human Beings exists among us for damned sure. And that America's Moral Compass and alliances is now Questionable to our most staunchest Allies and best Trade Partners. I don't know that they can or will ever Trust us as a Nation again, I know I wouldn't. We've shown the World a very Dark Underbelly that exists, and a total disregard for Global Unity and Protecting the Righteous and those who've been Loyal to us. Cozying up instead to Enemies in a Transactional way driven by raw Greed, Criminal intent, and thirsty for Power and holding onto it at all costs. A Nation is only Great when it is Good, when it ceases to be Good, it ceases to be Great.
I'd prefer to see America rebound and swing in the opposite direction to what I see going on right now. Strongly so, not just by Narrow Margins. By Voting Stats the Margins are too Narrow IMO to make me convinced American Citizens aren't still so strongly Divided, and so deeply Partisan entrenched, that they can be Unified for any Cause, however Righteous? So, we are no longer a UNITED States of America, perhaps we should Rename THAT... since he's into Renaming everything now... and that would perhaps be more accurate to Rename. *Eye Roll* I don't wanna be Fighting against other Americans frankly, a Country Divided within itself will surely fall and Fail. He's Paid Off a lot of his Victims and their Families to avoid Prosecution. But some things just Need to be said out loud and Publicly, not just in Private or Covered Up. I do hear say that a lot of actual Conservatives who Identify as Republicans are appalled too, but most of them keep oddly Quiet about it. She took my Picachu Onesie for herself, to wear to Work as her Costume Today. And looked way Cuter and Thinner in it than I did, so it fit her better of coarse, so she can have it. She has a Collection of Character Onesies and every Halloween now can wear a different one each Day as a Work Costume... or to Bed, coz they are cozy and warm. She had a Scorpion in her Room last Night and had her Uncle Kill it for her. It happens, you just can't eliminate Creatures that have lasted Thousands of Years exactly as they are designed.
I guess he thought he could Handle that one and he was sorely mistaken. Becoz he had a LOT of trouble restraining her to where then it became an actual Brawl with missing Tooth and all. She's Crazy Strong once she Goes Off on a Mental Rage, so he underestimated how violent that would go and bit off more than he could chew or Manage and Handle. He had to then go in to Work with a busted up Face again and Strangle Marks around his Neck. I often Wonder what his Employer thinks, coz he's had some evidence of violent encounters that he has to explain away. Like the time at the Concert in or near a Mosh Pit a Youngsters Back of their Head slammed into his Face. And then the time he got too Drunk and fell, hitting his Eye and Blackening it. He did tell his Boss that his Mentally Ill Sister did it to him this last time, but that he had initiated the confrontation foolishly so and Triggered her. She's been in to the Store before so they know she's not Right in the Head. *LOL* The Condition of her and of The Young Prince is evident, it's not so much a "Hidden Disability" with those Two. The rest of us can sometimes Pass for being Normal or even Sane. *Bwahahahaha*
So, my oversized Old Mrs. Santa Troll, ugly Troll Baby Doll, and Prim Witch are pictured Above. I didn't buy the big Elf Troll coz I thought I already had one like it and I'd already spent more than I anticipated spending for the day. The Showroom wasn't very messy so I didn't have to spend much time getting it ready for the Holiday Weekend. The Mall was dead tho', deserted, so no wonder there's no Sales. They aren't doing a damned thing for the Holiday Weekend, which, they should, Halloween out-sells Christmas now Commercially, so it's a missed opportunity not to do a damned thing for it. Nobody was in Costume, they weren't playing Halloween Music... so no wonder nobody was showing up. Everywhere else is taking full advantage of a Popular Holiday and it falling on a Weekend this Year. If you don't make yours a destination, well, don't expect anyone to show up.
By stark contrast Buc-ees was Mad Busy. I went to get a couple more of their T-Shirts. And picked up these Two Jams too, Berry Bacon Jam and Prickly Pear Cactus Jam. The Storm did hit while I was out shopping, a fierce one that dumped a large amount of Rain in a very short period of time and caused almost zero visibility on the Roads. But it lifted early, and it got Sunny, tho' way Cooler and barely 70 degrees, we may get more Storms and Flooding Tonight tho'. I just Hope that Tomorrow it waits until really late at Night to Storm so it doesn't ruin Halloween. As it is it's ruining the last Weekend of the Arizona State Fair, which will be a Wrap by Sunday. So I'm glad I went while the Weather was nice. I'm glad I also went to The Desert Botanical Gardens while it was still nice and Hope their Dia de los Muertos Celebration isn't ruined with Bad Weather? I'd like to attend that Nov. 1-3.
November 19th-22nd will be the "Sweet Salvage" Christmas Themed Event called "Comfort & Joy" and I'm pretty sure "Highland Yard Vintage" will also have their Christmas Themed Event as well. Their Christmas Market runs longer, from Nov. 12th thru December 8th... only Closed Thanksgiving Day. I got some more BRACHS Harvest Mix Candy from the Dollar Store, and Candy Cigarettes, when you can get bagged Candy you like for only $1.25 you get some while they still have some left in their Halloween Aisle. The Son bought a Pizza for Dinner but The Man and I had already eaten leftovers from our Mediterranean Meal. I bought some T-Shirts at SAVERS for Re-Sale and some Anime Plushies too. I'll let Princess T take the Anime Plushies she wants and then Sell the rest. The Haul is Below:

T-Shirt No. 3 is a Wednesday Addams Crop Top with long Sleeves.
T-Shirt No. 4 is a Halloween Horror Theme.
T-Shirt No. 5 is a Thugs Bunny T-Shirt.
T-Shirt No. 6, this one I might keep coz it's a Christmas Scooby Doo and is XXL, so if it fits it's a Keeper. If it doesn't fit well, I'll Sell it.
T-Shirt No. 7 is hilarious and should Sell easily, a Satire Tee with Vintage Style Graphics and Naughty Content. *Smiles*
T-Shirt No. 8 is a Christmas Keeper of the Grinch in XXXL that I got from Buc-ees.
T-Shirt No. 9 also an XXXL Keeper from Buc-ees... the only Brown one they had left in this Size, the rest were Light Blue and I wanted the Brown one, so snagged the last one. They'd Sold Out of all their Merch that was Dia de los Muertos. They were already all stocked for Christmas. And a lot of Customers in there were in their Pajamas, so, I dunno, is it a Thing to wear your Fancy PJ's to a "Buc-ees"? I mean whole Families were there in their matching Jammies, lots of them, so it seemed like it might be a Thing??? Cute Jammies... and not necessarily Halloween Print ones, so it wasn't like a Costume per se for this upcoming Holiday. Most of them seemed to be Christmas Themed Jammies in fact. I looked it up and Yes, indeed, Families wearing Matching Buc-ees Pajamas or Loungewear Sets often while Visiting a Buc-ee's Travel Center or on Family Road Trips, has definitely become a Viral Internet and Tik Tok Trend... and film themselves while in the Store... who knew? *Shrugs*

Now for some of the Kiddos in Costume at SAVERS Today:
Princess T in my Picachu Onesie, see, she does look Cuter than I did in it. *Smiles* The Girl Above my Granddaughter's Pix is one of her Adorable Young Co-Workers who wants to be a Special Effects Makeup Artist, as Winona's Ryder's Character Lydia Deetz of the original 1988 "Beetlejuice" Movie, when she wore the Red Wedding Dress. I wish I'd taken a Pix of her when she did her Female Alien Makeup, it was superb, On-Set Movie worthy, and she was Beautiful in it, she's really good at Special Effects Makeup. Princess T got a Cute Halloween Bucket filled with Candy from Management Today.
I just couldn't get thru the whole Vincent Price Old Classics Marathon, they were going to do "House Of Wax" {1953} next, which was shot in 3-D, the first Color 3-D Feature Film released by a Major American Studio and Stereophonic Sound. It was actually a remake of a 1933 Film "Mystery Of The Wax Museum". But I don't know whether I can stay up and watch them all, even tho' it's not that late, I'm tired. And this Year I haven't sat and watched the Cult Classic Horror Movies becoz I've been too busy to watch much TV. And Real Life has been scary enuf this Year, the News is scarier now than any Horror Movie... and the difference being, it's Real and happening!!! They could have someone like Vincent Price narrating Today's News... his eerie Voice would be most appropriate.
