Cottage Gardens Spring Bling

You may be surprised to learn that I didn't always have a passion for Bling... traditional style Jewels just never did it for me you see. Even though in my Youth I worked in a fine upscale Jewelry Store and had access to some of the finest Jewelry, most of it custom made by exceptional Jewelry Designers, I only had a few pieces made for me during that Chapter of my Life.  They were great pieces, but I found I didn't wear them as often as I probably should have... and when I had a robbery and lost them all... though it was certainly a violation to have them stolen, I cannot say I grieved long over the loss of valuable pieces I rarely wore.  But I always loved my Mom's oversized and quirky Bohemian Jewelry though... not only for the sentimental value and outrageous Boheme' uniqueness of each piece... but because it was really "Me" and I loved wearing it.  I also wore a lot of Hippie Jewelry in the 60's and 70's... my taste in Bling was definitely on the Bohemian side regardless of market value, investment value or social popularity of a piece or an Artist.  And so it is with great excitement that I'm seeing so many Artists now creating the Styles of Jewelry that I just adore and want to acquire and wear daily... AT LAST!!!  Before I always had to either make my own Jewelry or scour the Flea Markets, Thrift Stores and Estate Sales for someone's dead Grandma's stash of Vintage Bohemian Bling. *Morbid but true! LOL*  And pickings could sometimes be slim and you had to get whatever was available, when it became available, not a lot of choice or control over how your Bling Accessories collection grew... more the luck of the draw. Though because it was never all that popular I could always count on a great price when I could find favored pieces I still longed to find Artists that created MY type of Jewelry... and I'm delighted that now it abounds and has found it's time in History to be properly appreciated.  Altered Art, Steampunk, Salvage Art, Broken China Mosaic, Repurposed and Rejuvenated Jewels... the creativity of such pieces and unusual aspect of each piece appeals to me.  I love to make it and I love to buy it... just as much as I enjoy discovering Found Treasures of Vintage and Antique pieces of Bohemian Bling.  I have favorite Jewelry Artists... among them Becky Edwards, Paris Montana, Vintage Bliss, Amy Hanna, Twigs, and Dos Fannies to name just a few whose creations I LOVE!  There are many I'm discovering daily via the Land Of Blog as well... there are so many of you out there that are creative geniuses in Jewelry Design and I'm in 7th Heaven admiring and hopefully acquiring your work to add to my collection of Bohemian Divaliciousness! *LOL*

Come along my Friends as we go to one of my fav Shops to behold the new Spring Bling at COTTAGE GARDEN 2 ... Owner Carol Migray scours the Countryside and all the best Shows to bring back wonderful finds and the creations of many of my favorite Artists whose works I adore and has become my indulgent addiction... yes, I probably need Bohemian Bling Therapy at this Chapter of my Life... I'm certainly making up for lost time of all the years da Bling was not much of a temptation!!! *winks*  This visit I was also getting my latest acquisition by Artist Becky Edwards out of Layaway *quivering with excitement*... my Beautiful Becky Edwards Bluebird Bracelet was coming Home with me this day! *Very exhuberant Happy Dance!*  Dear Meilan did a happy dance with me and gave me a big hug, she knew how long I'd waited for this moment to bring a little Birdie Home with me! *Smiles*  Don't us Gals always rejoice, get excited and happy for each other when we "SCORE" some of our fav finds!!!  I know I do... I can get as excited about any of you scoring a Treasure as I do when I score some of my own because I know how great it feels... and who doesn't want their Gal Pals to also feel great and be Blessed with Beauty?!? So... what are you being drawn to in this bounty of Spring Bling at the Cottage this visit my Friends?  I've ensured some up close and personal Bling Time with each piece and I certainly have my favs... and I'm sure over time I shall have many more that call to me like a Siren's Song. *winks* But I'll be content to save up and acquire just a few ultra special pieces each Season and save the rest for all of you... so that we can waltz through each Season sporting our Beautiful Bling... because if we don't deserve it, who does??? *Winks*... Happy Spring Bling Hunting my Friends... Dawn... The Bohemian

Karen is one of the most generous and sharing Bloggers I've ever run across... she is constantly making available the most amazing graphics for all of the Land Of Blog to be inspired by and use in their own projects... adding vintage image downloads every day since 2007!!!  You ROCK Karen, thank you for giving so freely from your resources, it is appreciated beyond words!

Source: A Step In Faith... this is beautiful imagery of what I imagine Jesus might look like. Having a personal relationship with the Lord has helped me to uncover and release all that He had put inside of me and realize my true Source of all that I am and can be.

Source: BECOMING LOLA ... Okay, so usually I stay away from Blogs that photograph lots of Beautiful Foods... because it's just too much temptation for this Foodie even though these sites can be very inspirational. *winks*  But when you discover a Blog such as this it had to be an exception to my rule.  Not only does the site offer Beautiful Food Creations, but takes us to some of the most Beautiful of locales in search of them such as the one above... when a Shop looks this delightful you can only imagine the delights you shall find inside!!!

Source: Maryam of ICING DREAMS... Maryam gave me persmission some time ago to show you some of her beautiful confection creations of Mendhi inspired cake decorating and I've been wanting to for some time... alas, I was not able to increase the size more than this so please visit her site on FLICKR to see her amazing culinary and decorating talents!!!  These are by far some of the most beautiful Boheme' decorated confections I've ever witnessed, truly inspirational! I truly Hope one day that Maryam decides to publish a Book showcasing all of her creations because I'll have it on pre-order in a heartbeat! *Smiles*

Yes... I JUST received my pre-ordered copy of this amazing new decorating Book by Fifi O'Neill...
and it is absolutely chock-full of Beauty and Inspiration!!!  I'm glad I didn't have to decide upon which cover to go with... I love both equally and would've been in a quandry! *LOL*  Books have always been a great source of inspiration for me, my Library is extensive and I never tire of looking through each Book no matter how many years I've owned and re-read it! What is your favorite inspirational Book(s)?  I've got decorating Books in languages I don't even understand, but the pictures are worth 1,000 words and transcend language barriers!

Don't you just love to be inspired my Friends?  I do... beautiful images, whether we see them in person or through the eyes of the lens... our own Kodak Moments or someone else's, create virtually endless possibilities and inspiration.  I love coming to the Land Of Blog daily for doses of inspiration.  The shared imagery, stories, creations and ideas keep us inspired don't they?  Through the advances of Technology we can now see a limitless supply of inspiration from the comforts of our Home, just sitting in a comfy chair in front of the computer.  Growing up I could never have imagined such things as I am now enjoying daily so I don't take any of it for granted... I savor it... I appreciate it... I am grateful for it... and for all of you too!

What images have inspired you lately my Friends?
Keep inspired... Dawn... The Bohemian

Step Inside My Spring Studio

Come, let us step inside my Spring Studio... that's right, it's out here, in my Gardens.  Everything is in bloom now, there are vivid bold colored surreal sized Cactus Blossoms everywhere and the scent upon the air is Heavenly!  Think Orange Blossoms mingled with Cactus Blossoms and Sweet Almond Bush... I wish I could bottle this scent, it is simply Divine!  There is plenty of seating, so pull up a chair... and grab a good book, there are several laying around... I'll pour us some Raspberry Lemonade or Prickly Pear Iced Tea and we'll visit while I work. The weather couldn't be more glorious and I can start my work early, right after we get the G-Kids off to School and the Sun is just coming up and everything is coming to Life. The Birds are singing us their beautiful chorus, my resident Mockingbird has the most amazing repertoire you've ever heard of other Bird's calls, he's the Rich Little of the Bird Kingdom and he entertains me daily. *Smiles*  I'm as busy as a Bee creating Bohemian Bags and the Bees are as busy as... well... Bees, deep in the pollen of the numerous blossoms that surround us! *winks*  One reason I like creating entirely by hand is that my hands can go everywhere with me *Smiles* and the few supplies I need can be stuffed into a Carpetbag and transported to any desired destination to create in.  I couldn't think of a more inspirational and serene Studio when you want to create than the great Outdoors surrounded by Nature and all of Creation.  I can look at what the Master has created all around me and feel connected and inspired in ways that I just couldn't anywhere else, so getting in rhythm and flowing with an Artistic vibe is almost effortless and natural.  Yes, the Garden Studio is perhaps one of my favorite places to incubate a creation and bring it to Life.  I can certainly see why the Lord creates daily... there is no greater rush.  I do Hope your stay today has been enjoyable, come back again anytime... you never know what inspiration you might impart during our visits... because creative Spirits are definitely inspirational to each other and an encouragement... and together we can saturate the World with Beauty, one piece at a time... Dawn ...
