Dealing With Flaky As Fuck People

 The Post Title Hook Today is a Clue of where we're immediately going.  Good Lord we needed Comfort Food by the time the Day was done!!!  *Winks*  We were so upset on Friday Afternoon, it was 104 Outside and we'd taken The Son to the Parking Lot at his Work to meet up with that Friend and the Mechanic who had reached out to him to help try to fix it.  They hadn't arrived and should have already been there, so I didn't have a Peace about just leaving him there, sensing, what if they didn't show up?  People can be flaky as fuck like that so I'm a cynic.  Even when someone says they will do something, even if they volunteered without being asked, until they actually come thru for you and show up, I'm a skeptic.  I had that gut sense not to leave but he convinced me they had said they were on their way already and would be there within 15 Minutes.  You don't expect people to be bold faced lying to you like that.

Also Gypsy James had said he was coming in case they couldn't get it fixed and running and then he'd tow it back to his house.  So, I felt if the Mechanic flaked out, Gypsy James could be Trusted not to leave The Son stranded way out there, knowing how far we live from there.   Well, HOURS later he called to say nobody showed up, kept making excuses when he'd call and ask what was going on and what would be the ETA, he was running out of Water and the Gates would be Locked at Dusk for the whole Weekend!!!   Well, long story made shorter, they quit even answering his Calls so he had to call me to come get him.  He had to Walk all the way, over 2 Miles, to a Convenience Store to get Water, coz the Gates are Automatic and he didn't wanna get Locked in.

He made it to the Convenience Store and said he was Thankful for all the time he was Homeless and got used to being in the harsh Elements, coz it made his constitution tougher.   But, I was angry at all Three People who let him down.  He didn't ask any of them to Help him, they contacted him and offered, so it's some bullshit they didn't honor what they said they were gonna do.   I HATE it when anyone makes Promises they can't or won't keep and deliver on.   Don't Promise anything, it would be more Honest and Honorable IMO.  It would have Saved us taking him all the way out there for Nothing and him waiting for Hours for People who weren't even actually gonna show up!  And leave him stranded in extreme Heat!

Vent over, he was Okay, and I felt bad for him.  Unfortunately Society is becoming so much like that, people without Commitment and Honor.  People making empty Promises they don't intend to Keep or just flake out on with weak lame excuses after having Promised something they now don't want to make good on.   They'll say they're Sorry later, as if they should be forgiven and everyone should forget what an unnecessary Asshole Move that was.   The Son kept his Temper and said Trust was broken, so, no sense in flipping out about it, Lesson Learned about who is untrustworthy and Talks Bullshit.   I agree, you sort people out by Actions, not Words, which come Cheaply... and nothing sorts people out quite like Trouble.  You Live and you Learn by how folks Treat you and who can't be relied upon or Trusted.

The Daughter and I watched a good NetFlix Movie by Tyler Perry called STRAW.  I won't spoil it, but the ending is very unexpected and the Story has quite a strong Social Message.   It Starred Taraji Henson, Tenaya Taylor and Sinbad.   I barely recognized comedian Sinbad in it, he had a Serious Role and barely looked like himself in it.  It moved me to Tears, I could relate to the Character on many levels of her Life struggles, and I think a lot of the Audience might be able to also if you've ever moved thru serious Issues of Life that push you above measure and beyond strength?    Anyone whose enjoyed a Charmed Life might not be able to have any Point of Reference and think it's exaggerated how bad Life can get, but, it can and often does for so, so many.

I do have concerns for the Younger Generations when all of us Elders are gone.  The World is in such chaos, indifference and self-centeredness that will anyone Care when someone else is in a struggle?   I just don't see the desire of those not of my Generation to get Involved or put themselves out for one another.   The Son had described it perfectly when we found those Human Remains and he said our Generation is so different than his or those Younger than his Generation.   He said the Elders of our Era will get Involved, his Generation and the Generation of The G-Kid Force would see something like that and simply say to themselves, "That's some Crazy Shit...", and keep on Walking, choosing NOT to get Involved and pretend they never saw it.  He could be Right.

I haven't heard anything on the News about that finding of Human Remains on the Rez, so clearly it wasn't even Newsworthy.  After all, I hadn't heard anything on the News of the NINE Open Missing Persons Cases there on the Rez either, that those Officers told us they were Dealing with in a single Week!!!   Perhaps they think knowledge of how many folks turn up Missing might scare off and Negatively impact Tourism, especially at the Casinos, I dunno?   Or mebbe it's so dreadfully commonplace everywhere now that it doesn't even Rate Media Coverage?  Plus, right now everyone is more Fixated and Titillated on shit like Two Infantile High Profile Billionaires having a ridiculous Media War with one another, as a distraction to what is more importantly Wrong in the World.

I don't even know how Hard they'll go on trying to Identify those Human Remains?   Will it just end up a Jane/John Doe in some Forensics Drawer?   No telling how much influence or affluence, or Social Status, The Missing's Families have, to warrant the spending of a lot of Resources to Find out what happened to their Missing Loved One?  You hear about such things all the time, even with Serial Killers, if the Victims are from a part of Society that nobody Cares about or scorns, the Value of their Life and Deaths is marginalized too.   And violent Predators know this and often Target their Victims accordingly.  Remember the Gabby Petito Case, she was Young, Pretty, Blonde and White... on an Adventure with the Boyfriend and Social Media was eating it up... along with what happened to her when it all went Wrong.  The Resources spent on that Case far exceeded the Norm for a Missing Persons Case... or even a Homicide Case.

Had Gabby not been of the Demographic she was, would anyone have Cared as much, if at all?   Would there have been the outpouring of Resources to Solve her Disappearance and then the Crime?  I doubt it.  There are a multitude of Missing Persons and Cold Case Homicides, you never hear of most of them, ever.  Let alone if anyone is even looking for them beyond perhaps those scant few who noticed they were even gone or Loved them.   Every Human Life has Value IMO and is worthy of effort to ensure they are Alive and not a Victim of some horrendous Crime against them when they turn up Missing.   In the area we found that Human Jawbone all of the Missing Persons we saw Fliers of in the area were Indigenous Young People.  Whether all Nine Open Cases were in that area, I couldn't say, but I got a good Guess based on the fact they're all still OPEN Cases and there's NO Coverage of it at all.

I got a Sock covering my hurting Left Foot, rather than wearing a Shoe.  I may have to get it X-Rayed if it keeps swollen and hurting, tho' Honestly I have no idea what is wrong with it at all!?   It feels like a deep Bruise or a Break, but, I didn't injure it, so how that happened to produce the injury is unknown.   It's just crazy sore and swollen directly above Three Toes with no explanation.   Doctor Google said overuse, structural issues, and underlying Medical Conditions could be the cause.  I don't wear tight fitting Shoes so that wasn't the culprit.   Nerve damage is possible, I'm Diabetic, and even Fractures, coz I'm Old and it doesn't take much for a Woman well over 50 to break something doing nothing in particular you'd think would cause a break or Fracture.

The exact location of the pain actually Dr. Google said could be Extensor Tendinitis, Morton's Neuroma, or a Stress Fracture.   The Extensor Tendinitis sounds like what I'm experiencing and they say Rest, Icing the area, compression and elevation are in order, I've been doing all of that.  I'll still get it looked at when I go see my Doctor soon for my usual well checkup.   She monitors me every so many Months since I do have a chronic condition with the Type II Diabetes, which isn't always as controlled no matter what we do.  But, we keep working on it and she's a great Doc and I really think she's done more for me than any Specialist ever did concerning the Diabetes management.   I get the terrible looking dark Red Bruising easily as I've gotten older, even with minor trauma.  Your Skin gets like the consistency of Crepe Paper! 

I bumped my Arm against the Door Jamb bringing something into the House and got a bad one of those Senile Purpura on my Forearm, the Kids Freaked Out about it.   They're like, Jesus, you now look like you're Abused!   I laughed and joked, "You know what you did to me...", they didn't think that inappropriate Gallow's Humor was as hilarious as they usually do.  *LOL*  But Listen, I was using levity coz, whaddya gonna do, I'm Old now, this happened to my Parents at about the same Age and I Freaked Out about it too.  My Dad was more prone to it than my Mom and my physiology is more like Dad's, especially my Skin.  Not only in pigment but in not having much layer of Fat under the Skin of my Arms and Legs.   My Skin has been known to bend Needles too.  It never hurts me to get Shots, I just barely feel it, if at all.  I was that Stoic Child who was seemingly indifferent to Pain.  The Son is the same way.  It could be CIP {Congenital Insensitivity to Pain}, I just don't know?

Anyway, so I got an Arm Bruise that looks wicked right now and a Bum Foot, so I do seem fairly tragic at the moment.  *LOL*   I'm glad I didn't Work last Night and just rested with my Foot up and compression on it.  And I've just got to use more Care about minor trauma since tho' it doesn't usually hurt very much, if at all, it looks wicked and seems to bother others looking at it more than it bothers me having it.  I don't wanna feel like this delicate little Flower of a Senior.  *Bwahahaha*  I do Tease The Man often about being this delicate little Flower now coz he can be such a Baby about everything now he's Old.  He was Tough as Old Boots and a legit Bad Ass, so I have to assume it's part of the changes onset of Dementia causes in reactions?  He expresses his distress now thru incessant complaining and being childish about minor discomforts, magnifying them ridiculously.  Apparently that's common as the Disease progresses.

We went Goodwill Hunting today and Scored some really good Merch.  The Man got a Collectible Sword in a Sheath, really beautiful, for less than $20.  I got some Skeins of Mandala Yarn, which normally retails for $5-$7.50 a Skein, it was in bagged lots for $4 a bag, for minimum of Three Skeins in the various Rainbow Colors.  I got a realistic looking Faux Fig Plant in a beautiful Tribal Art Ceramic Pot for $3.   Some expensive Facial Care Products that retails for over $50, I got a bagged lot of it for $4.  Some Rubber Art Stamps in bagged lots for $2 a bag.   A Metal and Clear Lucite Industrial Organizer filled with Hardware for $10.  I'm gonna put the Hardware in our Home Repair Storage Area and use the Quality Organizer for that Scrabble Tile Organizer, coz it has more than 26 Drawers.  I got some nice Altered Art Decanters for a Dollar each.  A Health Food Cookbook Co-Authored by Robert Downey, Jr. for $2.  The Man got a new Old Stock Vietnam Veteran Baseball Style Hat for $2.  A good Haul!

We drove past the Old Neighborhood where the Villa McManse is, in just a Month they've built a HUGE Water Park and new Fire Station in the Community!!!   After over Two Decades of Promises to build infrastructure for that Community it's all long overdue and should help bolster the sagging Equity of the area and high turnover, which is still happening.  Lots of Properties that are For Sale near our previous Property there, some for the 2nd or 3rd time in less than a Decade.  One that is the same Floorplan and Santa Barbara Tuscan Style as ours was {see Above}.  That Seller is an original Owner and kept it really nice, Surprised they're moving, they did a lot to the Property and were some who originally paid over a Million to have it built.

  They're asking $799,000, it's doubtful they'll get it... the bottom dropped out of those Luxury Homes and when we bought ours, just like theirs, we only paid $370,000.  The Market hasn't recovered all that much yet to break even for original Buyers when they used to be Million Dollar Listings.  They have a Corner Lot, but no Pool, no interior Fireplace, and no Granite Countertops.  Ours had more original upgrades, but, it looks like they did a lot to maintain everything beautifully inside and out.  They also had the Half White Kitchen Cabinetry along with Half Light Wood.   But, they didn't have the Hardwood Floors in a lot of the Rooms that we had and they had too much fitted Carpeting.  They had the entire Home Re-Stuccoed coz the Builders Stucco Work was shitty.  Trend Homes got Sued over such things before filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.  Of coarse I was nosey and did the Online Virtual Tour critiquing everything.  *Winks*  My inquiring Mind needed to know.  *Bwahahaha* 

Anyway, our Neighbor Rob told The Son that he'll bring his Flatbed Trailer over to where his Car is broke down at his Work and bring it Home for him.  Our Neighbors are good Neighbors like that and Rob knows some Mechanic Work, tho' that wasn't his expertise, he and his Brother are good at repairing damned near anything.  Mebbe he can also take a look at it once The Son gets it Home and see what he thinks might be Wrong?   The Son has to go back to Work on Monday and would like to have his Vehicle running again.  It's sucked that he had all this time off this Week and was stuck here at Home with no transportation and all that commuting to and from the Vehicle trying to get it running to no avail.  Anyway, I'll just be glad to have it back Home here in case his Employer didn't want it parked on the premises long. 

And the finale of the Evening I watched the NetFlix Special Documentary "Becoming Led Zeppelin", it was very good, they're one of the all time Fav Rock Bands of my Brother and I.  And I have a Led Zeppelin Story to tell that happened in Phoenix, when the Band was already very famous.  My Brother is a Retired Hollywood Photographer and knows a lot of Celebs.  Well, Led Zeppelin were in town and went to a local Watering Hole and sat with my Brother and were introduced to our Mom.  He was in a Dart Tournament that Evening so had brought our Mom, who Loves Darts and he was visiting her from Cali, where he lives.  Well, Mom has no idea who Led Zeppelin are, so she's hanging out with them as if they're Ordinary Guys that know her Son.  *LOL*  And when she asks what they do for a Living and they tell her they're in a Band, she says, "Well, Loves, I Hope your little Band does very well..."  *Bwahahahaha*

They thought it was so hilarious that she had no idea who they were, treated them with the same Gift of Hospitality she exhibited to anyone and everyone, and they insisted their Chauffeur drive her Home in their Limo!  My Brother later explained to Mom just how Iconic and Famous their Band is, and this therefore made for a great Story to tell.  Mom just thought they were a bunch of very nice Lads from Great Britain, far from Home, trying to make it as Musicians.  *LOL*   I think becoz she wasn't Star Struck is why they enjoyed hanging out with her so much, Mom could be a Trip and people just Loved her, and my Brother didn't elude to their Celebrity Status.  Tho' Mom knew that he knows many Entertainers and Celebrities, she knew nothing about Famous Rock Bands, hardly any of them.  *Smiles*
