Velveteen Rabbit Chair ~ Creative Genius Of Carol Hicks~Bolton

I have Admired the Creative Genius of Carol Hicks~Bolton for many, many years.  Her Velveteen Rabbit Chairs are an Enchanting and Practical use for remnants of Antique and Vintage Fabrics to Create OOAK Upholstery that I just absolutely Adore!   I plan to begin a Project to re-upholster all of my old comfortable chairs in such a way, using a Crazy Quilt of every scrap of Salvaged Fabric that I have fallen in Love with and Rescued over the Years.   Each Chair will then tell a Story and Preserve a Tapestry of Memories.  Thank You Carol for all of the decades of Inspiration and Beauty you have given the World with your Unique and down-to-earth understated Style.

  1. I saw this chair awhile back and also fell in love with it. This is another reason why I need to learn how to sew. Carol Bolton Rocks!

  2. What did she do, cover the chair with a neutral muslin or linen then hand sew individual pieces of velvet and tapestry in crazy quilt style as she acquired them?

    1. I'm not certain of the 'process' used Marlynne, but I plan to hand sew a crazy quilt of individual pieces together and then attach them over a neutral base. Dawn
