Funky Fun Finds

I'm taking you along today to foof my Booth at THE BRASS ARMADILLO WEST and partake of one of my favorite past-times... looking for Funky Fun Finds.  There's something about the Quirky, the Unusual and Fun Style that really appeals to me.

I was totally enamored with this Funky Fun Vintage 1930-1940's Era Cracker Jack Charm Celluloid Necklace!!!

It had Peacock, Parrot & Kewpie Doll, Dancing Bear & Tiger Charms for Heaven's Sakes, among others... what's not to ADORE bout that?!?  *Winks*

Little Orphan Annie, Hula Girl, Pink Elephant & Velveteen Rabbit Charms... I could totally see myself wearing a piece like this... what Fun Vintage Style!  How many peeps do you suppose you're likely to see wearing a similar necklace now, really???!!!!  *Winks*

Or a matching Bracelet!!!????!!!

Loaded with equally charming Celluloid Vintage Cracker Jack Charms... LOVE IT!!!

And how would you like your drinks served up at a Party by this Pirate Lass?!?!!!  *Winks*

Yeah, I totally look like this when I'm wearing my Pirate ensemble, how about you?  I WISH!!!!!  Well, The Man probably wishes too...  *LOL*

I tried to get the Young Prince to pose beside her, but at 11 he was thinking she looks plain Evil!  *His words not mine!  LMAO*  Yeah, a Gal like this could scare and intimidate a Young Man I'm sure... *Smiles*

Especially when she has a Boyfriend like THIS!!!  *LOL*

Break out the Captain Morgan peeps... *Winks*

I bet he could help us 'score' some Found Treasures and intimidate the competition!!!!!????   *Smiles*

And Geo's Drugstore Indians appeared to be trying to get a better look {far off one} and really appreciating the scenery {closer one} of Antonio's Pirate Lass!   Well, she IS looking at him seductively...  *LMAO... this was too funny!*  See what fun I have when I go to Work!!!  *Smiles*

And I'd found some Funky Fun Finds for my Booth as well... a pair of Vintage Lamps that should catch the eye of any Francophiles...

Because what's not to adore about Marie Antoinette Style Porcelain...

Or perhaps Napoleon Style Porcelain... and I'm selling them as separates in case you just fall in Love with one or just need A lamp and not a set of lamps... Loved the Bright Colors that lend themselves well with Fun Vintage Style...

And be sure to come back again to go Junquing with us... because there's so much more to discover...

But only a limited amount of time to 'score' it before someone else does...

I've Got The Fever... Spring Fever

I Love Spring... everything is waking up after a long Winter... well, except Morris that is... Morris is taking extended naps on the Porch in the bed he inherited from Rat Boy!

Morris is definitely not waking up after a long Winter, he's languishing in the warmth of the Spring Sunshine for hours on end!  *LOL*  I think Morris has the right idea actually... I could go for long naps outside right about now, the weather is glorious and a hammock strung up in the Garden would be ideal this time of year, I'd probably never want to roll out of it!  *Winks*

But there isn't much napping going on because... well... I've got the Fever... Spring Fever that is!!!  *Smiles*  Yep, this time of year I wake up earlier to soak in as much of the Spring Sunshine and Day as possible.  Long walks and Gardening are the order of the day... there's a Tulip Tree {not the official name... its what I call it anyway... smiles} not far from our House and its bursting with fabulous blooms now.  They rain down upon your head like Tulip Rain and the heady fragrance is Divine!  I always bring Home a few and float them in Vintage bowls of water, they last an amazingly long time as their delicate looking petals are waxy & thick like a Cactus Flower.  I wish I had one of those mature Trees in our Yard... they're quite magnificent when in full bloom!   But what I do have is a wealth of bulbs bursting forth through the soil just in time for Easter... and Cactus Blossoming with their vivid, bold, waxy surreal looking blooms.

It also makes me want to plant... anything and everything!  I repotted the Ivy Topiaries that I got for a buck each, they're thriving and getting much bigger already... so I've got to find a good place for them since they've outgrown the Bistro Table on the Front Porch.  I'm concerned the fierce Summer Sun might be too much for them, so I've got to find a nice Shady location to house them.  It also makes me seek out those Found Treasures that will make great little Planters to put in my Booth... so I've been busily planting Succulents in my Found Treasure Planters... today it was a Sweet Vintage Stork Planter and a Lovely little Succulent about ready to burst into Bloom!  I can't wait to see what the Blooms will look like?!  Well... if it doesn't Sell before they open... *Smiles*  The Vintage Planters have been well received... which I'm glad about since I Love Sourcing them and being an avid Gardener I Love having any excuse to buy plants to re-pot and find a good Home for!  *Winks*  I could spend all day in a Plant Nursery... its as much Fun for me to go to a Garden Center as it is to go Junquing!!!  So combining the two... Bohemian Valhalla!!!

The great Edit & Purge of 2012 is in full swing now that it's Spring... Spring Fever makes me want to Spring Clean everything and start afresh with so many things... how about you?  What Fever has Spring given you my Friends?

Bold & Beautiful

As I take you on a stroll around THE BRASS ARMADILLO WEST today I am reminded of my Natural attraction to the Bold & Beautiful.  In fact I'm not certain I shall ever escape the clutches of Bold, Beautiful objects... I'm just drawn to them like a Moth to a flame.

Not that it's a bad thing mind you... there has to be a reason why each of us is attracted to some things more than others and that diversity of taste, aesthetic and Loves is what makes Life interesting and how we each Feather our Nests unique and distinctly US.   But from time to time I have tried to make a change and go with other Styles, other Loves of Decorating and Collecting... only to come back time and time again to what I'm Naturally drawn to & attracted to strongly... the Bold & Beautiful.  The Quirky and that which is an outward reflection of my inward personality at the very core.

And so today I'm sharing some of those Bold & Beautiful things that struck my fancy at the Mall... and yes... I did come Home with a couple of the less expensive Treasures that I found impossible to resist the appearance & price of... namely the Peacock Feather Duster and the Vintage Persian Runner in a gorgeous shade of Minty Green.  *Winks*
