Beau Colbern's Dreamy Ferris Wheel Image

Source: Image by Beau Colbern

Every so often you see an image that is just so captivating and dreamy that you can get lost in it!  This fabulous image by Beau Colbern takes me to that place... where you can dream about an overgrown Amusement Park that Nature has reclaimed.  When Nature melds with what Man has made there is just something organic about what it becomes once again... and it becomes just as lovely as the natural landscape around it.  I wonder where this location is... how remote... or how near a thriving town or city? I can only imagine when the last ride on this Ferris Wheel took place or the back end story of why the Amusement Park closed down and Nature decided to come in and take a ride on the old structure?  I wonder what type of fauna it is that has blanketed and draped the Ferris Wheel so beautifully and so lushly?  I also wonder... are there other rides and buildings we cannot see... also transformed by Nature into a beautiful work of natural Art by Mother Nature?  Oh how I'd like to visit such a place as this, wandering, wondering, imagining and capturing through the eyes of my lens!!!  Thank you Beau for sharing this amazing imagery with the World on your Tumblr site... it has sparked the imagination of  what it would be like to take a visit to this most enchanting place!?

Creating That Zen Moment

I don't know about you but I've really been in need of creating that Zen Moment lately.  Life can come at you fast and furious... and sometimes I just need to slow it down to a more relaxed and Spiritual pace so that I can feel a Peace about my day.  I don't function well in chaos or drama... I'm a very laid back Bohemian Spirit that enjoys orderly peaceful days to delight in.  There are some that would contend that it could become boring to have order and Peace and a stillness to life, but I've never been easily bored... in fact I can't remember the last time I felt or was bored even in the quiet moments of Life.  I actually revel in a Zen Moment and would be perfectly content with more of them, things come sharply into focus in my mind and my Spirit when activity and noise are stilled for a time... even a lengthy time.  I enjoy the relaxed natural pace that Nature often provides and teaches us in the rhythm of Life... where things happen as they should and time almost stands still because it isn't relevant.  Senses are heightened... hearing, smell, sight, touch, taste... and those inner senses that quite often get drowned out and suppressed are allowed to come forth.  I enjoy communing with Nature, it has taught me more lessons than I ever learned from a formal education.

What creates that Zen Moment best for you my Friends?  Do you intentionally take the time to create it as often as you need to?  I confess that sometimes I get so caught up in the hectic, frenzied pace of Life coming at me that I fail to step out of it for those moments I should... as often as I should and need to.  Even though I know I risk the crash and burn of living Life too fast, too reactively, dealing with more than is realistic at once or allowing the issues of others to infect and affect my calm.  And it is at those particular times that I'm reminded that... as Ghandi said, there is more to life than simply increasing it's speed.  And I slow down, purposefully... and step out of the rat race and into those Zen Moments that can so easily be created and savored... to restore and balance the body, mind and Spirit and come back to Center... which is where I should be... and it feels right again.  I do Hope our time spent here together has provided you with a Zen Moment in your day, I know it has for me... Pull Up A Seat And Grab A Mug Of Joe

Hello my Friends, I've made us a mug of Starbucks Coffee with whipped cream on top... so pull up a seat and grab a mug of Joe so we can visit for a while.  I just got my copy of "Flea Market Style"  and we can sit together, talking about some of our favorite topics... Junquing... collecting... decorating... photography... fav publications... Art... Found Treasures... Flea Markets... Thrifting... Blogging... Family and Friends.   We'll trade Stories and secrets of our passions, creative pursuits and our lives.  Sharing doubles pleasures and experiences after all.  So here's to a cozy afternoon with tasty treats, good fellowship and delightful conversations... Dawn... Rosary Sunday

It's time once again for Rosary Sunday... today I'm sharing a couple of Figural Rosaries, they are among my favorite types since the figures encased in each bead are so beautiful and special.  Usually the figures are of Jesus, the Blessed Mother, the Sacred Heart, a Saint or the Cross.  I'm also sharing another Irish Horn Antique Rosary.  The Amethyst tubular Glass Bead Rosary is one of my creations. And finally, though not a Rosary, I'm sharing a favorite style of Religious Art, the Icon... this one made into a small hand-held Pendant.  The G-Kids photo is thrown in for good measure just because their precious faces always make me smile and nothing I've collected, no matter how magnificent, compares with the brilliantly beautiful Smile of a precious Child...  Blessings...
